The security guard explained that as he was escorting Shiesty out of the building following the latter’s show, someone grabbed at loose bills in Pooh Shiesty’s pocket.
This incident allegedly angered Shiesty, prompting him to return to the stage to identify the person who got handsy with him.
The security guard claimed he saw a gun from Pooh Shiesty’s waistband, so he told Shiesty to conceal it.
Then, the guard reattempted to escort Pooh from the premises safely. However, without warning, Pooh allegedly turned around and fired one round back into the area, hitting the guard’s ankle.
The guard said he jumped out of the way when the shooting incident happened — which might have saved his life. Afterward, he claimed he saw Pooh Shiesty hand off the gun to someone before splitting up.
The police say they determined Pooh had fled the state of Florida. But after the alleged victim identified Pooh Shiesty in a photo lineup as the perpetrator, the police force initiated the extradition process to take Shiesty into custody.
According to Miami-Dade County Corrections records, the rapper was cited for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Memphis Rapper Pooh Shiesty Receives Over 5-Year Prison Term Following Altercation Involving Firearms in Florida
The Florida judge sentenced Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty to over five years (63 months) in federal prison on Wednesday, April 20, 2022.
On January 4, 2022, Shiesty pleaded guilty to the federal gun charge in Florida. He did so to avoid greater charges, which could have landed him behind bars for life.
To be specific, Lontrell Williams (Pooh’s real name) admitted to conspiracy to possess firearms in furtherance of violence and drug-trafficking crimes.

- On October 9, 2020, in Bay Harbor, Florida, two individuals had codeine, marijuana, and sneakers stolen from them after being assaulted during a meeting with Williams and others.
- On May 30, 2021, Williams assaulted someone using a firearm at a Miami strip club.
In the first shooting, the Memphis rapper was sitting in a car when another person in the vehicle opened fire at a gas station.
The second incident, which happened in October 2020, was the event for which Pooh Shiesty was sentenced to 63 months in prison.
That evening, Pooh Shiesty and his accomplices arrived at a meeting to buy codeine, marijuana, and sneakers.
